Still missing from Google...

I'm starting to get unhappy about this...

I just had a REALLY good night. (Saturday night). I went to the Mother concert, and hung out with a lot of friends there. It was AMAZINGLY good. Then, we went to an afterparty bonfire. It was great. I was in good spirits, and so were everyone else. I even met some new people. A good night was had by all!

Added custom 404 and 403 pages. No more generic, annoying errors, people!

Annoying? Maybe still! Generic? No way!

Somebody just pretty much saved this site's life. The mystery of why this site disappeared from Google has been solved, by a stranger.

This is the second time this week that the theme of "The Kindness of Strangers" has come up in my life. There's a lot to be said for it. It's amazing.

Anyway, in case you were wondering, it was a stupid error I made while modifying a php script, MONTHS ago. I guess it just took until recently to manifest itself. A php include that was on nearly EVERY PAGE of my site, was adding a command to tell web spiders to STOP COMING TO THE SITE!

Consequently, Google couldn't index my site, MSN and Yahoo search weren't doing it properly, and my Alexa rankings changed to "No Data".

All this time, I thought there were weaknesses in Google's system, and I was actually POLITELY asking Google to stay away from my website. Inadvertently. I'm SO happy that this is fixed.

Now we play the waiting game, to see when Google adds me back!

Google just crawled my site!!!!! Pages it probably hasn't crawled in a week! I could cry with happiness, seriously!!!!! This probably means that the site will be back on Google in a day or 2!!!!!

Added a whole bunch of redirect pages, where old versions of pages used to be. Now it won't resort to 404 each time one of these old addresses is followed. Now I'm going to sort through the site's files, 'cause it's getting over-limit.

Signed up with and installed Site Tracker software. It should be more reliable than my current software. Plus, it shows a counter now! The count is site-wide, non-unique page loads. I've installed it in parallel with my current tracking software. I may, in the future, remove the original software.

Re-submitted site to Google, in light of recent de-indexing fiasco.

Feeling tired today. Urgh, I really need to sleep more. I'm not in the best of moods. Maybe if I take a nap, I will wake up feeling better? Site still not in Google, but a spam site using phrases lifted from this site has apparently been removed, so that's a good thing.

It seems like the more addresses I block from my guestbook, the faster spam shows up. It's like it divides when thwarted. And comes back twofold.

GoogleBot crawled the main index page today! For the first time in ages! This is a really good thing!

Ok! MSN Search has re-indexed the site! This is a really good sign!!!!! Google should most likely follow, I would think! Google is on its toes! I'm going to go and check Alexa now.

Site is not in Alexa yet, but it's in Yahoo! Yay!

I fell asleep in the sun and had hallucination-like sun-baked dreams. I then went to sleep in my bed, and had more strange dreams. Then, upon waking, I had an episode of sleep paralysis. It was unpleasant.

Space Cowboy Software is back in Google!!!!! This is cause for celebration! I sat up in my chair, and the biggest smile spread across my face!

Just finished a meal. 2 pepperoni and bacon pizza pops, a pita with a generous serving of hummus, some Easter chocolate, a couple of glasses of Pepsi, and a cup of coffee. I eat kind of like a sumo wrestler. This is a moderate example of that.

A whole bunch of pages are now in Google! This is REALLY, REALLY good. I hope this continues.

I've resised several of the comics to make them more "smaller-screen friendly". Unless I've missed some, they're all 700 pixels wide now.

I've just put the blog archives in chronological order (rather than reverse-chronological). It makes for a much more enjoyable read.

Haha! 30 pages indexed now! I was so excited I put my hand over my mouth! How cartoonish! YAY!

Added a headerbar to every page (except the guestbook and forums).

Considering a new Mad Science project, but it's early to say if I'm going to make it official.

My a key is broken. I'm pasting in all of the a's right now, with apple - v. It works pretty well but in a minute I'm going to go and get my other keyboard from the basement.
