March 2006Wednesday, March 1st, 2006New comic! Thursday, March 2nd, 2006Protest today in Victoria. Just got back at about 10. It went well. It was just on the news. I hope it had some effect. If not, there's more where it came from.
Good afternoon. I slept in quite a bit today. I probably had a lot of sleep to catch up on. I've been reading Wikipedia for the last while, looking for inspiration. It has over 1,000,000 articles now. I wonder how long it would take to read all of them. Scents From MemorySometimes emotion can come from the strangest places. One thing I tend to do is change the type of deodorant that I use. Just for a change of pace. Most of them work equally well. If I ever go back to a scent that I've used before, a wave of memories come back to me, and depending on the nature of the time that is brought back to me, my heart can nearly break in two. For, as it turns out, the amount of time that it takes to go through a stick of deodorant can often be the length of an era, the length of a life, an island in everything. Scent is supposed to be the sense most strongly tied to emotion. Deodorant has four things about it that make it ever present, and even more present in times that might involve strong emotion. 1. You generally wear it every day So, as you can see, sometimes unexpected things can be a big part of life, particularly of the emotional side of life, the more poetic side of life. If deodorant can be poetic, maybe everything is poetic. Saturday, March 4th, 2006Always Something to Long ForWhy do we always want what we can't have? At a first glance it might seem like some kind of cruel joke. We can hope that it's some primitive instinct, an instinct to always want to better one's life, to conquer all, to take in all that surrounds them before someone else does. But, like so many other human instincts that have gone out of control now that we don't need them so much anymore, it can make life hard. Sometimes I wonder if peace of mind has a lot to do with not thinking. Urgh, standing still again. Day in day out, productivity level very close to zero. Maybe that will change today. I'm trapped, and there's a way out, I just need to follow the path. I just need to stop stopping on the path and looking down over the edge. There's so much down there, but I need to just walk by for now. I can come back later. New comic! Sunday, March 5th, 2006Ok, as we speak, either a crazy person, or a web spider gone mad is madly entering nonsense into Blog 2. It's not even spam, it's just a bunch of letters. Strange. Anyway, good morning! It's 12:40 am, so I haven't slept yet. Today I'm going for lunch with a friend, I'm looking forward to it. I'm quite hungry right now. If I go to sleep soon, it'll be breakfast soon! PageRank is reading at 0 again. Hopefully it's getting ready to go back up to 4? Time will tell. This site's Alexa ranking went up for the first time ever! This just may call for a celebration! This at least means that the line on the graph has more or less found the site's true position, and it could very well mean that an uphill trend has begun! (uphill in this case meaning a good thing, the climbing graph). I'm very excited! Agh, how am I finishing these cups of coffee so fast? I think that was my 7th for the day! Whoa! I think that was my 8th now. And the pot is empty. I think I'll stop there. PageRank back up to 4 again! It's totally fluctuating! :)! Monday, March 6th, 2006HAHAHA! I thought that the number of unique visitors to the site was sitting still, and then I checked to see if it was taking into account the most recent week, and it wasn't, so now that I've fixed it, it's showing over 400 unique visitors! That's where I'd expect it to be if it had continued to grow at an awesome rate! And I made a sound of extremely pleased happiness when the number changed. So, today, I'm trying to get schoolwork done. I clearly have attention-defecit disorder. I always want to do about 200 things at the same time. Tuesday, March 7th, 2006Whoa, Hey, Blogger, You're Broken!Last night I decided to try setting up a Blogger blog with Adsense enabled, to see what kind of money could be made from it. I think I picked the wrong night. The servers were in some kind of maintenance state, or possibly state of disorder, and things kept not working, and then half-working, so I ended up creating a blog that didn't quite work. I think I fixed it this morning, but it still seems a bit broken. At any rate, I've noticed some other things that concern me. For instance, on the main Blogger homepage, the "Blogger News" panel has some news from November, and then an update from February informing me that if I'm "Looking for news about Blogger", I should check out "Blogger Buzz". Well, what's this news panel for then? To show me old news? Oh, and the ad banner in my blog overlaps my name, in the ABOUT ME section. So it's like, "Ads, ads, T ME". In addition, I set my blog to be signed up to register with weblogs.com, but upon going to weblogs.com, I found it to be very broken or possibly defunct looking. It had a whole bunch of recently updated blogs from 11:17 am (It was like, 22 after by this point), and helpful links for updates from "Previous hours". What about previous minutes? Why aren't any of my newly updated blog entries in there yet? Why does it seem like everyone has packed up their websites and run away from a zombie invasion? Oh yeah, and there doesn't seem to be a place to enter a title for my entries. Ok, upon logging into a blog that I created awhile ago, it seems to be allowing me to enter a title. So, my diagnosis for this morning is that I created some kind of broken blog. I'm going to start a new one now that things are working. Ok, I was right, I really did create some kind of... not quite complete... blog. I now have a new one that, so far, seems to be working quite well! The moral of the story? Don't create an account on a website when you have to hit reload dozens of times to make anything work. Wednesday, March 8th, 2006Cleaned my room, and moved my desk today. The idea was that a change of scenery would increase my productivity. I'm now facing 2 windows instead of none, and underfoot is a nice rug. Now, to get lots of work done! Thursday, March 9th, 2006Welcome to "Radio Not Sleeping". It's 3:12 AM, and I'm not planning on sleeping anytime soon. I'm being moderately productive as far as schoolwork goes. I'm also trying to track down the elusive "London Booted" Clash remixes. So far from what I've heard, they're pretty hit and miss. But I love the Clash, I love remixes (GOOD remixes), and I love music, so my search continues. I made it to 24 hours! Haven't done that in a little while. I don't feel so great, really. I'm going to try to get work done, though. Springtime is outside! Oh, so I'm at thee 33 hour mark now! Approaching my record! I'm hoping to surpass it by a lot! This really isn't all that bad! Friday, March 10th, 2006So, 40 hours, and somehow I'm still awake! This is a new record for me, and I'm feeling surprisingly good! I can't wait unil breakfast, though. It's not so much that I'm all that hungry, but I am looking forward to the human contact and the adventure outside of my room/office. Ok! I think that 40 hours is a respectable accomplishment! I'm going to go to bed now, curled up like a kitten! Or possibly stretched out more like a person. Awake again. I've been reasonably productive. Saturday, March 11th, 2006Went out for coffee with a friend today. Then, I visited 2 other friends at their place of work. Then, I ended up staying there until closing time, helping them, and visiting with them. Now I am home, and I'm hoping that my un-productive-ness is at an end. Sunday, March 12th, 2006I think my productivity is back on track! Monday, March 13th, 2006Note to spammers: I've started blocking the IP Address of any spam post in Blog 2. I'll miss your broken robot antics. To the rest of you, Keep on rocking in the free world, Your resident space cowboy. Added some new setions to the forums, and rearranged the order. Still need more people to join them to get the ball rolling. I'm hard at work on my textbook, but I keep getting intense urges to set out on a personal programming project. All of this reading about coding really makes me want to be working on something big, something free of constraints. I need to hurry up and get my degree, though. I think. Maybe. I think so. Maybe I can do both. Tuesday, March 14th, 2006Pagerank is at 0 again, but that's ok. Hopefully it'll go up again! Spammer IPs blocked so far: 3 Pagerank's back to 4! Wednesday, March 15th, 2006Ok, going to go for some site redesign here. I've got to start dating these entries more consistently. Site redesign tentatively complete. I'm very happy with the revised look. Thursday, March 16th, 2006Did some redesign in Four Panels of Fun. Friday, March 17th, 2006Schoolwork today. I must. Oh, and I must say, that if you haven't seen the movie "Me and You and Everyone We Know", see it. It's possibly the most wonderful movie I've ever seen. I want to make music right now, really badly. But I can't think of anything more time consuming. I think I'm going to go and eat dinner, and then get to work. I can't see myself sleeping anytime soon. It's feeling ever so slightly like summer, and if past summers have been any indication, that means that things are going to go crazy. I need to finish my work and batten down the hatches, before the clouds gather. The nonexistent clouds of summer. Urgh! PageRank back at 0 again! I really hope it goes back up to 4! Saturday, March 18th, 2006New Comic in Four Panels of Fun! Enjoy! :D Pagerank: 4! Sunday, March 19th, 2006Getting ready to start work on a new section. What will it be? Stay tuned! New section is up. Trend Hop! Monday, March 20th, 2006Hey, how's it going? It's the 20th. Wow. Sorry my entries have been so to the point and unexciting lately. I have a lot of work to do. Tuesday, March 21st, 2006Agh! As the number of the date gets bigger, my stress level increases. I need to do something about this. Wednesday, March 22nd, 2006*Wide-eyed, fretful stare* Urgh! And PageRank: 0 again! Come on PageRank! Thursday, March 23rd, 2006I can and will do this. Nothing is impossible. Friday, March 24th, 2006Why have I so little to report lately? Have my experiences caused my head to become hollowed out like a jack-o-lantern? Oh, and PageRank is back at 4 again, if you were in suspense! :) Saturday, March 25th, 2006I am going to have both hamburgers and hot dogs tonight. Monday, March 27th, 2006Missed a day in there. Just finished a cup of coffee. Don't want to sleep. Ok, it's site redesign time again. Planning on adding a new section, too, Blog Archives. Okay, it's already getting a lot less ugly around here. WhoAgh, here's the part where the site gets really messed up while I'm working on it. It's going to end up prettier than this. Have faith, ok? Ok, site is stabilized. Now I just might need to do something about this logo. Maybe I'll work on the blog archive while I'm thinking about it. Tuesday, March 28th, 2006Hi. Meal report time. Haven't had one of those in awhile. I made a burrito so big, that it required 2 tortillas. I proudly wrapped up the unwieldy morsel, and just upon doing so, realized that I had forgotten hot sauce. For a moment I felt like the man in that classic twilight zone episode, who, when presented with the end of the world, and an empty library, where he could read in peace forever, accidentally drops and breaks his own glasses. I solved it, though. I poured and poured tobasco sauce into the top opening, until the burrito was filled and pouring sauce out the bottom. I then proceeded to eat it. Insert the usual Requiem for a Dream pupil dialation and gasping noise. Now I'm cooling down with a cup of coffee. Now I begin archiving the blog entries! Wednesday, March 29th, 2006Blog Archive well underway and stabilized. Now only the current month is showing on the main page. I'm going to continue working on the categorized archives. Reverted guestbook back to traditional format. It's now available in the sidebar. Thursday, March 30th, 2006So I just discovered that a large number of the forum sections were locked, beecause my browser's autofill feature put a password in the "section password (leave blank if none)" field for each of them. It's fixed now. Maybe the forums will be a lot more popular now that people can post in them? Updated the sitemap. I've decided to link-map it. Then, it will acutally become a useful tool rather than an odd joke.
